Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Property Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Property Maintenance Services, a leading property maintenance company. This role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and general up keep on residential and commercial properties managed by our clients. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly skilled in various trades, and committed to ensuring that properties remain in excellent condition, ensuring tenant satisfaction and preserving the long-term value of each property.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and general building infrastructure across residential and commercial properties.

• Respond to service requests from tenants and property managers, addressing issues such as leaks, appliance malfunctions or lighting repairs.

• Conduct regular property inspections to identify potential issues and complete preventative maintenance to reduce future problems.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the safe operation of tools and equipment, and adherence to building codes.

• Install and maintain fixtures, equipment, and appliances in various properties, including light fixtures, locks and faucets.

• Address emergency maintenance issues promptly, including after-hours or weekend repairs, when needed.

• Assist with property preparation between tenant moves, including painting, repairing drywall, cleaning carpets, and performing general touch-ups.

• Assist in landscaping and exterior maintenance tasks, such as lawn care, snow removal, or pressure washing.

• Manage and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, ensuring tools and materials are stocked for quick access when repairs are needed.

• Provide excellent customer service to property owners, tenants, and property managers, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

• Keep detailed records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections for each property and submit reports as required.

• Coordinate with other technicians or contractors for specialised repairs or larger projects.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with appliances, plumbing and electrical, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants or property owners.

• Adhere to company policies, including safety protocols, code of conduct, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in property maintenance or general maintenance, with a strong background in residential or commercial property repair.

• Skills and experience in multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general construction.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and repair instructions.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex maintenance issues.

• Basic understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices for maintenance.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with tenants, property managers, and colleagues.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure timely and high-quality work.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple service requests at once.

• Availability for on-call shifts or emergency service, including evenings and weekends.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travelling between job sites.
  

Work Environment:

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors on various properties, including residential buildings, office buildings, retail spaces, and multi-unit complexes.

• Exposure to maintenance tools, chemicals, and electrical equipment.

• Occasional work in varying weather conditions for outdoor tasks, such as landscaping or exterior building maintenance.

• Ability to work in a team setting or independently, depending on the specific project or maintenance task.
